highlights:

- my hostel, travellers house on rua augusta if you plan on heading to lisbon: amazing! friendly people from all over the world, helpful staff, fun activities, amazing hot breakfast ... all for the budget friendly price of 18-20 euro per night. 

- going on that note, the people i met at my hostel

- the atmosphere. portugal reminds me of oman. laid-back, but proud of their history. friendly friendly people. beautiful beautiful people.

- food. pasteis (pastries!)

- SINTRA: beautiful fairy-tale town one hour from lisbon. world heritage site filled with castles, winding streets, mountains, and an air of mystery and adventure.
