Oman and the Olympics

This is the first time the Olympic flame will pass through Oman, and Oman is the only country in the Middle East to host it. Funny how whenever the Olympic flame would pass through US cities in the past, I never really paid attention or even planned on seeing it "in progress." But here ... oh boy, it's going to be quite the celebration. Fireworks, school children and performances, all sorts of bands ... No matter what you feel about the Olympics this year and the whole China/Tibet/human rights/etc. thing, you've got to admit ... this is pretty cool. (And besides, the Olympics isn't even meant to be political.) I hear it's going to be televised, so for those of you who keep up with such events, see if you can spot me in the crowds (between 4 and 8 pm, GMT+4!). ;-)
